Notary Public Oaths

The Wake County Register of Deeds will be administering Notary Oaths in person by appointment only, until further notice.

The Register of Deeds office administers Notary Public Oaths for Wake County notaries Monday through Friday by appointment only. You will receive notice by mail from the North Carolina Department of the Secretary of State to be sworn in at the Wake County Register of Deeds office.

Where do I take my Notary Public Oath?

  • The notary oath will be administered in person, by appointment only, at the Register of Deeds office.

Do I need an appointment?

  • Yes, Notary Oaths are being administered by appointment only.

  • To schedule an appointment, send an email to [email protected] with your notary commission name.

  • You will be contacted by email within 2-3 business days with appointment availability.

What do I need?

  • Your notice from the North Carolina Department of the Secretary of State's office.

  • The Notary Public Oath fee is $10.

  • You must show a valid government issued photo ID when taking the oath.
